Keeping Your Faith Strong

Faith arises as a beacon of light in the wide expanse of human existence, guiding us through life's convoluted paths. It is a timeless power, immovable in the face of misfortune, a fortress against the winds of doubt, and a constant source of hope. Today, we start on a comprehensive investigation of faith—faith that is profoundly anchored in the teachings of Scripture and has triumphed in the face of hardship.

"Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1)

TRUE LIFE STORY OF HOW TO HAVE FAITH

This narrative starts with a young man who made a serious commitment as a child to keep his virginity and moral steadfastness until his wedding night. This commitment was founded on a firm belief in God's purpose for his life, a belief that would be put to the ultimate test. An unexpected and incomprehensible occurrence happened only weeks before the long-awaited wedding day - a ruptured testicle. The motives for this bizarre tragedy are still unknown. Fear grabbed his heart, for disclosing this ailment to his prospective bride held a great deal of uncertainty and fear. "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10)

In the middle of the turbulence and uncertainty, this devout man resorted to prayer for spiritual direction and peace. He knew in his heart that the devil was a liar and that God's plan would triumph. God's peace that exceeds all comprehension surrounded him, and he vowed to believe in His unchanging promise. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." (Philippians 4:6)

The wedding day approached, and despite his reservations, he summoned the bravery to tell his spouse about his ailment. Nonetheless, in a stunning turn of events, his future wife dismissed it as a joke. Little did he know that this would be the beginning of a miraculous journey. "And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith." (Matthew 21:22)

After the wedding, the devil never stopped whispering doubts and anxieties into his ear. The world around him appeared to conspire against him, with conversations about infertile couples dominating his thoughts. But he clung to his faith, rebuking the devil's falsehoods and placing his confidence in God's promises. "But Jesus looked at them and said, 'With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'" (Matthew 19:26)

A miracle happened seven months after their wedding. His wife gave birth to a lovely baby boy. Only then did he divulge the reality about the ruptured testicle, and his companion said she had never believed it, dismissing it as a joke. It was proof of the supernatural power of faith, confidence, and steadfast trust in God's purpose. "For nothing will be impossible with God." (Luke 1:37)

WHY DO WE NEED A STRONG FAITH?

1. Guidance in Uncertain Times

In the Book of Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV), it is written, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.’’ Strong faith gives us access to divine direction, which enables us to confidently manage life's uncertainties. In moments of uncertainty, we gain clarity and direction through believing in God's plan.

2. Strength in Adversity

The Bible teaches us in Philippians 4:13 (KJV), "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." A strong faith supplies us with the strength to face adversity. When confronted with adversity, our faith becomes a source of empowerment, allowing us to overcome hurdles and emerge stronger. It supports our resilience, telling us that we are never alone in our problems.

3. Peace Amidst Turmoil

In John 14:27 (KJV), Jesus assures his disciples, "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." A strong faith provides us a deep inner peace, even in the midst of turmoil. It helps us to rest in the knowledge that God is in charge, creating tranquillity and serenity inside our spirits.

4. Purpose and Fulfillment

Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV) states, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." Faith gives us a feeling of fulfilment and purpose. Believing in God's divine design for our life gives our existence purpose and inspires us to live intentionally and serve others in a loving and compassionate way.

5. Eternal Hope

The ultimate promise of a strong faith lies in the assurance of eternal life. In John 11:25-26 (KJV), Jesus declares, "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die." Through transcending the limitations of mortality and granting us everlasting life, faith in Christ gives the prospect of salvation and eternal fellowship with God.

This amazing story of faith serves as a reminder that whatever the difficulties we encounter, God's promises remain unchanging. Although there may be doubt, anxiety, and uncertainty along the path, as long as we have a strong sense of faith, we can get beyond any challenges that stand in our way. Let us keep in mind to put all of our worries onto the Lord since He is the creator of miracles in our lives, just as this man's faith resulted in a healing. "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1)
