Do Not Give Up

Most times when things don't work for a believer, they tend to try another thing else. Well, the truth is the believer's faith is not a weak faith but a resilient, active, and strong faith. In the New Testament book of the Bible, the word Faith was translated from the Greek word 'PISTIS' which means Strong Conviction. So, your Faith ought to be strong. 1 Corinthians 16:13 - Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. From this scripture above I will explain how not to give up like mere people.

HOW NOT TO GIVE UP

1. Be watchful. What does it mean to watch? We will see the answer in God's word.

Matthew 26:41

[41] Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

How do we watch? By praying!

Apostle Paul used it as being vigilant. The work of a vigilante is always sensitive and active. It's a work that calls for an all-night watching. So, there must not be a time when a believer must be found weak. The way to stay strong is by praying. How often do you pray? When last did you pray? The answer will let you know if you are weak or strong in faith. You must be found building your Christian faith.

Jude 1:20

[20] But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

So, you build your Christian faith by PRAYING in the Holy Ghost.

So, when a word is said to you; words like you will be great in that business and you are having a critical condition, or you want to meet a deadline of an urgent need what you need to do first at that time is pray! Worry doesn't sort anything, rather it will give birth to more worries. But prayer brings a solution.

2. Stand firm in the Faith. The word stand firm was translated from the Greek Word 'Steko' which means to preserve. This is also vital as well. You need to preserve your Faith. One thing that forms our faith is the word of God. So, we need to preserve the word of God! What did God say to you? Don't let people talk you out of it. Just because it doesn't look like it now doesn't mean God didn't say it. There is always God's time and season for his words. So, preserve it! If he said he would make you great in your family, don't let people talk you out of that greatness! If they spoke negatively, the reason you were given your mouth is to also speak. Speak what God said and don't let their word overshadow what God has said.

Don't give up on that business! Preserve that business with your words. Enough of saying it is not growing, now say something else. Enough saying it's dry! Negativity doesn't attract the power of God! You can't just give up cause you prayed to be healed after you have used all medication from the hospital. No, preserve yourself by using your words! You've got to use your word to chase out that demon that brought the sickness. No giving up! Preserve your faith from yielding to failure! Don't be cheap to the devil!

3. Act like a man, be strong. This will mean that you must be empowered. Be equipped. What are you doing?

For instance, in Luke 5:4-6,

[4] Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

[5] And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless, at thy word, I will let down the net.

[6] And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

The disciples have toiled night and day. They went on laboring still. If it was someone else because you have tried over and over and you didn't get anything, they will try another skill or job. They stayed at that skill and were still laboring over it. They didn't give up on it! And what happened, while they were laboring Grace located them. It was because they didn't stop doing what they used to do (they are manly, strong, and do not give up) and opportunity met them in their labor.

As I conclude, if you don't want to give up on anything you are doing, keep praying. Prayer is a way of saying you trust God on the matter. Also, preserve God's word to you. If God said it then no man should talk you out of it, rather keep confessing it till it materializes. Lastly, be manly, be strong, be empowered, be invested. Don't be idle. Keep being busy and one day it's going to be a great day. Blessings!
